Vibrant Nigerian American wedding weekend
at a riverside lodge in the Berkshires

It was a joy to return to TOURISTS for the second year in a row — the magic of the Berkshires will never fail to captivate me. Gillian & Jared hosted a three day celebration for their guests, the first of which began with several incredible Nigerian traditions and the couple wearing two sets of exquisite, handmade attire by a family friend in Nigeria. Joy, chaos, and abundance are the words that come to mind to describe the afternoon's events, complete with dancing, drumming, and money sprays. As the sun set, guests wandered onto the deck for the welcome party with Gillian and Jared in their third outfit change of the day: a chocolate brown suit by Kith and the iconic mermaid dress by Ludovic de Saint Sernin.
The sun broke through the clouds on the second day as preparations began for the Western ceremony: flowers sprang up in the field, courtesy of Bell Brook Farm, and the tables were set with pansies, scapes, strawberries and peas, an homage to Gillian's statement Schiaparelli bean & pearl earrings. Her sculpted Schiaparelli dress caught the light in all the right ways as she married her high school sweetheart. The air was warm with the sound of laughter and clinking glasses, and the dance floor opened after dinner and stayed packed for the entire evening. Their final day by the pool provided guests with a soft place to land after the buzz of the weekend; a long goodbye of the sweetest kind.
