Shoulder seasons are always short-lived, but spending sunny days outside is unquestionably the best way to make the most out of them. The Kowallis' do life out in nature as much as possible in their daily homeschool rhythms and weekend explorations, so a Saturday at one of their cherished fall destinations just felt right. October weather can be hit or miss in the PNW, but on this particular morning, we were graced with warm sunshine and the smell of fresh apples.
